ClearView’s business

ClearView’s vision is to support Australians to achieve their financial and wellbeing goals while being a positive force for our staff, community and the environment.

This means that our business plays a fundamentally positive role for our customers. But we also recognise that everything we do has an impact on the environment and on broader society.

Here are some of our initiatives. We’ve made a start, but there’s more to be done.

Caring about environmental, social and governance (ESG) concerns

Our customers care about the big issues facing our planet, and so do we.

ClearView was certified as achieving net zero emissions in 2020-21 and 2021-22 by Climate Active, a partnership between the Australian government and businesses.

In FY2022 our business produced 2,015 tonnes of carbon emissions which were all offset through climate initiatives such as a biodiversity reserve in Borneo and a forest protection project in Papua New Guinea.

All the underlying fund managers used in our active model portfolios are currently signatories to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment.

ClearView has no tolerance for modern slavery linked to our operations and we are committed to working with our suppliers to address modern slavery risks within our supply chain.

All of our stakeholders also deserve to be confident that ClearView, through its Boards and the executive leadership team, implement and maintain corporate governance policies and practices within reflect the regulatory environment. You can find out more on our corporate governance page.

ClearView in the community

Developing meaningful community engagement is really important to us. It’s something we want to get right. We’ve started with a focus on initiatives that are connected to our business activities and vision. We think that makes good sense because it means we can have maximum impact.

We are planning to do more, but here’s a current snapshot.

Customer advocacy

We know Australians have been through a lot in the last few years.

When our customers experience hardship, we’ll show compassion, patience and empathy. We won’t pretend to know what you’re going through, but we’ll listen and respond. ClearView’s Customers Experiencing Vulnerability Policy (the Policy) describes our commitment to supporting customers who experiencing vulnerability.
