The ClearView Pension Plan pays you a regular and tax-effective income in retirement, while investing your superannuation money in a range of investment options of your choice.

What are the benefits?

  • Receiving a pension payment of at least the government legislated minimum, with the ability to draw as much as you want (up to your account balance) to suit your income needs. Click here for the 2011/2012 minimum pension payment requirements
  • Income payment frequency is flexible. You can receive your pension payments monthly, quarterly or annually
  • Choose the 'Ease Into Retirement' option and commence a pension whilst still working
  • Access to your capital when you need it
  • Choose from a range of investment options – which include allocations to domestic and international shares, listed property, domestic and international fixed interest markets and cash
  • Estate planning options which allow the value of the account to be paid as a lump sum or income stream to one of your dependants (subject to certain restrictions) upon your death. Alternatively, you can direct the death benefit to be paid to your estate
  • Tax advantages and Centrelink/Department of Veteran Affairs concessions

What are the tax advantages?

The Government has provided a number of tax advantages to encourage investors to roll over their superannuation savings into superannuation pensions and more recently has made them even more tax effective.

  • Earnings on your investment are NOT currently taxed whilst invested in an superannuation pension account
  • A portion of the pension payments may be tax-free if you are under 60
  • The total pension payment will be tax-free if you are 60 or over
  • If you are over 55 but less than 60, you may be eligible for a 15% income tax offset to reduce any tax payable on pension payments
  • You may also be eligible for the Senior Australian Tax Offset to further reduce any tax payable on pension payments

How does Centrelink/Department of Veteran Affairs treat this investment?

  • Part of the income from this investment is not counted under the Centrelink income test which means it is not assessable as income even though it is paid to you as income
  • 100% of the value of the money invested in an allocated pension is counted under the Centrelink assets test

Why choose the ClearView Pension Plan?

  • ClearView has a simple approach to fees. There are no entry fees, no exit fees, no switching fees, no income payment fees - just one management fee. These are fully explained in the 'fees and other costs' section of the PDS which you should read.
  • ClearView’s Investment Philosophy allows you access to leading investment managers so your money can be diversified both across and within the major asset classes as well as diversification across investment managers.
  • ClearView has a range of Investment Options to choose from to suit your own investment style and goals.
  • No minimum investment amount and no minimum account balance.
